Srilanka - 5 days

Day 1: Airport / Kandy. (Approx. travel time : 3hrs; 120Km)

On arrival welcome and s transfer to hotel in Kandy. (The standard check-in time is 1400hrs)

En-route visits to see the popular Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Set up in 1975, you can witness and admire the wild elephants in their natural environs. Originally established with the aim of providing care and protection to orphaned elephants, this orphanage has now turned into a major tourist attraction. The various daily aspects
can be viewed here, like bottle feeding baby elephants, feeding other elephants, bathing them, and so on. Afterwards procced to Kandy.
There will be a stopover for lunch by own.

En-route visit a spice garden at the Mawanella. The clients can witness that how are the spices proceeding and growing in Sri Lanka.

Kandy is the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings. The name ‘Kandy’ conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore of Kandy are still lovingly kept alive. The Kandy Lake, and Kandy town and bazaar are some interesting places to see with Gem Museum, Art & Craft Center, etc. Evening, in Kandy, visit the temple of the tooth relic, for a POOJA CERAMONY,
followed by a show of cultural performances.

Day 2: After Breakfast leave to Nuwara Eliya. (Approx. travel time : 2hrs 30min; 88Km)

En-route visit the Royal Botanical Gardens what Peradeniya is most famous for one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Asia, this tourist attraction was built by King Wickramabahu III in 1371. Located on the slopes of Mahaweli River, it is renowned for its wide collection of orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees.

Afterward proceed to Nuwara Eliya. It’s known as “Little England”. En route see the mountains covered with tea bushes, cascading waterfalls and a tea plantation and a tea factory. Where the best tea in the world is produced. Watch the tea pluckers pick
two leaves and a bud with deft hands. Then to the factory where the all-important conversion to “made” black tea happens. The machinery used is of very traditional British design, some as old as 100 years. The process is a very artisanal one, unchanged for a century. Observe the process of manufacturing tea, tea grading and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea.

In the evening visit Nuwara Eliya town with the busy local market, 18 holes golf  ground, Racecourse ground, Seehta Amman Temple and the famous Gregory Lake, etc.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3: After breakfast leave for South west Beach, (Approx. travel time : 5hrs 30mnts; 252Km)

Afterwards travel through a beautiful landscape & see the widest waterfall of Sri Lanka, “St. Clair”. And the Devon Waterfall. Enjoy the rich nature.

There will be a stopover for lunch by own.

In the evening leisure at the beach.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in South West Beach or similar.

Day 4: After breakfast leave to Kosgoda & Balapitiya.

In the morning leave to the turtle hatchery farm. Free visit to the site as a gift from Sunway Holidays. In 1981 the Wildlife Protection Society established the Turtle Hatchery to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction. Visitors of the hatchery can see the huge tanks filled with new born turtles.

Take a magical boat ride down the beautiful Madu River, a wetland estuary spreading over 900 hectares of which 770 hectares is covered with water and inhabited with 64 islands. The boat ride is a wonderful way to take a closer look at this complex wetland
ecosystem; a world heritage site protected by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands being one of the last wetlands in Sri Lanka to contain a pristine mangrove forest. Journey past massive mangrove forests, glide under the canopy of the forest tunnels
as they curve playfully towards the watercourse. Take in the unique biodiversity of the Madu River and its surrounding islands that boasts of hundreds of birds, plants, fish and animals.

Afterward proceed to the Colombo. (Approx. travel time: 2hrs; 85Km)

Commence city tour of *Colombo – a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and Independence Square.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Colombo.

Day 5: After breakfast leave to Airport for onward flight. (The Approx. travel time: 40min; 37Km) ( The standard check-out time is 1200hrs)
